Activities to take part in

Snowdownia National Park

For guests who are looking to challenge themselves, you have the opportunity to take on Snowdonia during your stay at Telford House. We expect a drive of around 35 minutes to get you to the foot of Snowdonia from Telford House. With seven different walking paths, there are paths to suit your needs, all with breath-taking views.

Should you wish to take in the views at as much of a leisurely pace as possible, we would recommend the Llanberis Path. It is generally regarded as the most straightforward route up Snowdon, mainly as the gradient is steady all the way up. If you are seeking more of a challenge, we would recommend The Watkin Path. For this path, the final stages of the route provide a real scramble and should not be taken lightly.

We would recommend taking plenty of water, sufficient walking boots and some food to fuel your energy. Make sure to get a group picture at the top!

Zip World – The Fastest Zip Line in the World!

Just a 15-minute drive from Telford House, there is an activity for the thrill seekers amongst your travelling party. Located in the town of Bethesda, you will find the fastest zip line in the world. Fans of The Apprentice may recognise this from the latest season, where one team aimed to impress their corporate guests with clients travelling at speeds of up to 70mph across the quarry. For those who might be slightly frightened of heights, there are plenty of other adventures to take part in, including a Quarry tour, as well as getting involved in the UK’s only mountain cart experience.

Conway Daytrip

A daytrip to Conwy is a personal favourite of ours, and something we don’t think you will regret. Conwy is around a 25- minute drive, where you can take in some lovely coastal walks, perfect if you’re bringing your dog! You can get also get the train for just £7.00 return, with the last train back departing at around 22:00 most evenings. While in Conwy, we would highly recommend dining at M&J Bistro, which serves luxury food at a reasonable price. A personal favourite would be the Fish & Chips. It isn’t the largest of venues and can get quite busy, so we would recommend booking ahead if possible.

Henllys Golf Club

Harry’s Bistro – http://www.harrysbistro.com/ 01248 812976

If you are a keen golfer, there are plenty of golf courses near by with some breath-taking views. We would recommend the Henllys Golf Club, which presents some extremely challenging holes, with some breath-taking views to focus on if any of the holes prove to be too challenging… The club shop also offers some excellent food & beverages to enjoy before or after your round.

If you are looking for more of a sit down meal, we would recommend visiting Harry’s Bistro, which can be found just a short walk from the club shop.

Beaches

There are many local beaches for guests to visit. Llandwyn Beach in Newborough is particularly popular with miles of golden sand. Nearby, there are excellent footpaths through the Newborough Forest. For those more adventurous, Rhosneigr Beach is famous for kite surfers and paddle boarders, not to mention great views of RAF planes landing & taking off from RAF Valley. A short walk from Rhosneigr Beach is a beach called Traeth Llydan which usually offers more space for beach games & picnics.
